Why Diversity Matters

Key Realty has always been about inclusion.  We’ve lived it since the day the company was founded in 2008 as the brainchild of our founders Dennis Degnan and Amy Saylor to create a company built by agents, for agents.  We can be modest at times and while diversity and inclusion are at the core of what we set out to do, in the past we simply internalized those values.  However, in recent months, with many new agent candidates asking us, “What is your philosophy on diversity and inclusion?”, it dawned on us that while we know we strive to be a diverse company, does everyone outside of Key know it as well?

This recurring question was the catalyst behind the creation of our Diversity and Inclusion statement that can be found on our website, www.explorekeyrealty.com.  This forward facing declaration is a testament that at Key, we want our family of agents to be representative of ALL the demographic groups in the communities we serve.

Key Realty Diversity and Inclusion statement:

At Key Realty, our mission is to change lives. We believe in nurturing a culture where everyone is welcome. Where diversity, inclusion, and freedom are the grounding principles of how we create successful business owners, cultivate leaders, and grow a company that allows infinite room for success.

Different ideas, backgrounds and perspectives foster a stronger and more creative environment for our agents to grow personally and professionally. We give our agents the freedom to invent their own tomorrow and we empower them to be the best version of themselves that they can be.  You will do better with Key!

Why is diversity and inclusion so important?  We believe having agents with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and talents is both more representative of our population as a whole, but it’s also the best way to serve the communities where we live.  Inevitably, agents are going to work with buyer and seller clients from diverse backgrounds so it's important as real estate professionals that we grow as individuals by seeking opportunities to be exposed to and learn from others who have different perspectives and experiences than ourselves.

As a brokerage, it is our duty to uphold the values of diversity and inclusion. Bringing agents into the Key family from all backgrounds is part of our core values and commitment to change agents' lives for the better.  And that’s not just some agents, it's ALL agents. We want to see agents unlock the potential inside themselves and enjoy a fulfilling, rewarding career in real estate. It is vitally important that our company is welcoming to all agents so that we can best serve clients looking to experience the fulfillment of home ownership.
