Key Mentoring Program
Our mentoring program at Key is designed to assist new agents as they enter the business and provide veteran agents with an opportunity to share their wisdom and experience to a new generation of agents. Mentoring programs are a proven way to increase new agent success.
Mentorship provides a quicker pathway to closed transactions and therefore increased income. Mentors provide support, knowledge and accountability to their counterparts and can help empower new agents towards a rewarding career at Key.Mentors are required to participate in and complete a dedicated training program and meet prerequisites including a minimum number of transactions, among other qualifications. Mentees will be required to complete Key’s initial Fresh Start training program and commit to being mentored for a specified period of time. Additional details can be found below.

Meet Lisa Smith! Lisa jumped into real estate leadership in 2016 when she joined the Northwest Ohio REALTORS® Board of Directors, eventually taking the reins as NOR's President in 2020. In 2023, she was awarded the title of REALTOR® of the Year for Northwest Ohio REALTORS®. She's a lifetime member of the President's Sales Club and continues to stay involved at the local, state, and national level serving as a director for Ohio REALTORS®. Lisa is committed to driving progress and excellence in the field. With enthusiasm, she embraces her role in facilitating Key’s Mentorship Program, foreseeing tremendous growth opportunities within.

Mentorship Program Overview
Sign Mentor/Mentee agreement and have introduction meeting with Mentor
Mentor will discuss goals for you to meet
Learn the importance of training and education through Key Education (training is mandatory and important to achieve success)
Schedule regular meetings and log the meetings/discussions (weekly or bi-weekly)
Discuss the current trends in the real estate market
Review step-by-step process with both buyer and seller appointments (listing and buyer presentation role play, CMA presentation, how to show a house)
Review contracts and transaction paperwork
Learn how to negotiate in this current market and how to properly write the contract
Go over all of the contracts and learn why they are important for a successful transaction
Mentors will be available to answer questions and meet with you to help with the paperwork to get you through the first three transactions.
Learn how to navigate the MLS, Showingtime, Forewarn, Dotloop, CRM, CMAs, property searches, Key Design Center (all the tools for a successful showing and marketing)
Learn how to set up a business and keep it organized through the help of Keyworld (how to use a database to help drive business and keep accurate records)
Get information regarding commissions, taxes and how to keep track of expenses - where to find additional training regarding paying taxes.
Run through all of the items needed: signs and marketing materials, lock boxes, tape measure, and whatever treasures you like to have on-hand
Compensation from mentees: 30% of the gross commission on mentee’s first three closed sales transaction sides, with a combined total amount of all referrals not to exceed $7,500.00.
